Roam Analytics Announces Lauren DeMeuse as new Chief Executive Officer
San Mateo, CA | October 28, 2019
Roam Analytics, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Lauren DeMeuse as Roam’s Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board, effective immediately. DeMeuse previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer.
“After seeing the Lauren’s positive impact on our organization and efforts over last 6 months since stepping in the lead operational role, we are excited that she has agreed to apply her insight, drive and considerable commercial talents to lead Roam”, noted Drew Oetting, a Roam Board director. “Lauren’s combination of strategic insight, product development experience, and a very strong operational and commercial orientation gave us confidence that she is the right leader for the next phase of Roam’s growth and development,” said Jeff George, a Roam Board director. “We thank Alex for his many outstanding contributions helping successfully navigate Roam’s development to this stage.”
Lauren joined the company earlier this year as COO to spearhead Roam’s business and product strategies, optimize operations across the organization, and accelerate commercialization of Roam’s technology. Under Lauren’s leadership, Roam has focused its platform offering on data-intensive healthcare markets such as Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Chart Abstraction (the ability to synthesize patient records into a streamlined report). As a result, Roam’s products are now better aligned with the needs of its customers, enabling them to realize clear business value through the use of Roam’s platform.
“I am grateful for the confidence of the Board and Alex to lead this organization into its next phase of growth,” said DeMeuse. “Roam sits at the exciting intersection of healthcare, machine learning, and enterprise software, and I see a huge opportunity for Roam to help major health players to achieve their goals. Roam’s offering fills a significant unmet need across healthcare customers where critical insights are locked in unstructured text, to which our competency in natural language processing provides the key.”
“Lauren is the perfect leader for Roam - she combines leadership and vision plus a passion for changing healthcare. Transforming the lives of patients is Roam’s reason for existence and Lauren is committed to making it a reality,” said Alex Turkletaub, who is staying with Roam as an Advisor. “I’m excited to work with Lauren and the Roam team to execute its mission.”
Lauren brings deep experience across enterprise technology with Palantir Technologies and Google, as well as in life sciences investing and management consulting. She previously held leadership positions at Palantir Technologies, including in applied ML/AI technologies, product development and healthcare business development. Prior to Palantir, Lauren worked with Health Evolution Partners, a growth-stage private equity firm, and as a consultant at the Parthenon Group. Lauren obtained her MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and graduated cum laude from Princeton University, with her BA in Molecular Biology and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
